INTRODUCTION In many application domains test automation has proven to increase productivity and product quality in a numerous application areas including information and communication technology, information systems, automotive, transportation, and defense. Recently new technologies and approaches such as model-based testing (MBT) have allowed industry to automate testing processes even further. Nevertheless many companies still perform manual testing and struggle with integration and deployment of different test automation technologies. Bearing this in mind, ETSI's Technical Committee “Methods for Testing & Specification (TC MTS)” has instantiated a new conference focusing on test automation: the ETSI User Conference on Advanced Automated Testing (UCAAT) where this year’s event will have a special focus on integrating model-based testing in the testing ecosystem. UCAAT is the successor of previous ETSI User Conferences on TTCN-3 (T3UC) and Model Based Testing (MBTUC). OBJECTIVES A multitude of academic conferences and workshops on automated testing already exist. Nevertheless, many industrial experts and test practitioners miss an event dedicated to addressing engineering and application aspects of test methodologies, test automation and model-based testing. The ETSI User Conference on Advanced Automated Testing fills this gap and offers an ideal opportunity for test designers, engineers working in test specification and automation, novices &testing experts, quality and/or project managers, and for test tool and service providers from around the world to come together to see, hear about, share experiences as well as learn about the latest advances in the industrial use of test automation. This year’s event is organized by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), Smartesting and All4Tec in Paris. The first day will feature tutorials and training sessions on the application of test process in industrial projects. The following days will include presentations from members of the automated and model-based testing user community, keynotes from invited speakers, poster sessions, a short vendor track for sponsors and panel discussions. IMPORTANT DATES Submission of title, authors and abstract:
30th April, 2013 Topics of interest include (but are not limited to): SUBMISSION DETAILS We are soliciting for short proposals for 20 minute conference presentations by test automation users (incl. questions), 1,5 hour entry level or advanced tutorials and posters focusing on practical aspect of test automation. Submissions should seek for extracting a message for a broader user community and should not focus on tooling details; tools can be promoted in the vendor track organized for event sponsors. A proposal for a conference presentation or tutorial presentation shall be no longer than two A4 pages and must follow one of the following templates: - TemplatePresentationProposalUCAAT2013.doc
(for conference proposals) The independent program committee, composed mostly from industry stakeholders, will evaluate all proposals. Proposals in PDF format shall be submitted via easychair. The program including the slides of accepted presentations and posters will be made available electronically to participants and on the conference web site. |
